You can really get away from it all in Duncan.
You can stroll along the banks of the Gila River at daybreak. Go for long bike rides past lush farmlands, historic mining sites, and rock-hounding treasuries. You’ll find friendly restaurants and charming shops unknown to New York designers, with shop keepers who have as many great stories as they have interesting and necessary goods to sell. You can get a really good haircut for only $10, stay in an historic bed and breakfast in a really comfy bed, and drink a beer in an old-style tavern full of friendly folks full of lots of tall tales. And best of all you can take a walk at sunset without a care in the world.
Although tiny, Duncan is the commercial center of a rich and relatively undiscovered region of natural features and recreation opportunities. See "Things To Do within 100 Miles of Duncan" at http://simpsonhotel.com/about_the_region_map.php.
